With major earthquakes occurring in Haiti and Peru and a smaller one just this morning in California, its making some scientists wonder if we are experiencing "Tectonic Implosion"
A new study done by the newly created International Panel on Tectonic Implosion (IPTI) reports that there could be a correlation between oil pumped out of the earth and the increased number of earthquakes we are currently seeing around the world.
Have you ever heard the phrase "Nature Hates a Void"? Well, it's true and that's exactly what's being created all over the world when Oil Companies suck billions of barrels of oil out of the ground everyday. It's like sucking the insides out of an egg and all you're left with is the shell.
As you can see by the graph above there is an obvious correlation between the increased amount of oil being pumped and seismic activity. In fact the latest large earthquake that took place in Peru caused so much "tectonic Implosion" that it caused th earth to speed up in its rotation, making our days 1.26 microseconds shorter.
Another negative effect is reducing oil's natural lubrication of shallow earthquake faults. When the oil was in the crust, it helped fault lines slowly slide along, now tectonic pressure builds until it snaps. This results in less frequent but larger quakes. This is a real danger in places like California where seismic activity is normal but the recent rise in oil prices have resulted in increased oil extraction. And also in places where they do a lot offshore drilling like Peru.
Is it true the San Andreas fault-line is in the shape of a hockey stick?

And another thing, you could plot all sorts of data on top of the oil and infer a correlation, and not all of them would be bad.

Sounds to me the researcher uses SciFi movies as his resource for studies. His obvious target audience is useful idiots in the quack global warming sciences and the peak oil nut cases.

If this starts a gravy train may I have a seat in 1st class. I have all the Qualifications; I know nothing about Earthquakes or tectonics.
I do however have a foolproof hypothesis regarding vibrations from farting cattle affecting the Earth's crust; the science is all done and dusted.
Farting cattle vibrations? I was sure it was windmills, but now I've got to pack a lunch and head out into the neighbors pasture and do a little first hand observations! Who could have thunk it!

(yes I meant to mispell that, - think "Egore", thank you Mr Limbaugh) As the climate change scam comes crashing down around them, those with money and power invested are getting desperate. This could easily be their next big push to 'evolve' mankind from fossil fuels with a little help from CNN & the 'public' education system.
