From wildfires in California to bridges collapsing in Minnesota, Global Warming is blamed to cover up incompetence.

If you need something to blame to cover up your own incompetence, just blame Global Warming. It doesn't matter what the problem is, just blame it on Americans and their @#&$%! SUVs.

Hurricane Katrina didn't really do that much damage, but under built levies which they've known about for years gave way and all heck broke loose. Now you could blame the people in charge of getting them rebuilt or go way back and blame the founders of New Orleans for building a city on the coast below sea level, but NOO!! Global Warming did it.

ABC and CBS stuck Tuesday night with news stories on the impact of the roaring California wild fires, but as houses were still burning NBC Nightly News found it an opportune time to make the case that global warming caused the fires. NBC's sole expert, however, delivered a circular argument in which the lack of scientific proof did not detract at all from his media-shared presumption that anything bad which occurs in the environment can be tied to global warming. After reporter Anne Thompson cautioned scientists say you can't know “after just one season” whether warming is to blame, Princeton professor Michael Oppenheimer, a leading global warming alarmist who, NBC failed to mention, serves as a science adviser to Environmental Defense, reasoned:

The weather we've seen this fall may or may not be due to the global warming trend, but it's certainly a clear picture of what the future is going to look like if we don't act quickly to cut emissions of the greenhouse gases.

Federal investigators are trying to determine whether 91-degree heat caused expansion that put too much pressure on the corroded gusset plates that held the I-35W span together.

Ten weeks into their probe of the Interstate 35W bridge collapse, National Transportation Safety Board investigators have intensified their inspection of a long-corroded gusset plate that was located in the section of the bridge that fell first.
In addition, authorities are analyzing what role the 91-degree heat on Aug. 1 might have played in increasing stress on the already-weakened L-11 gusset plate, which connected four steel beams located near the bridge's south end.

Outrageous response to High Court's inconvenient ruling

Advocates of the man made global warming theory have jumped on an article in yesterday's London Observer which insinuates that a recent court case which attempted to stop Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth being shown to school children in the UK is part of a vast conspiracy secretly being implemented by big industry insiders.

The Observer article, via a series of tenuous claims, suggests that the school governor, Stewart Dimmock, who challenged the screening of Al Gore's climate change documentary in secondary schools, calling it "tantamount to brainwashing", was funded by "a powerful network of business interests with close links to the fuel and mining lobbies."

Michael McCary, The Independent

Secondary schools across Britain are to be sent copies of the controversial television film The Great Global Warming Swindle, as the polemical battle over climate change heats up in the wake of last week's Nobel Peace Prize award to former US vice president Al Gore and the UN's climate change panel.

The much-criticised film is to be distributed by the small but vociferous climate change denial lobby, as a direct riposte to the Government's own distribution to schools of Mr Gore's film on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth.

Steve Lytte The Sydney Morning Herald

One of the world’s foremost meteorologists has called the theory that helped Al Gore share the Nobel Peace Prize “ridiculous” and the product of “people who don’t understand how the atmosphere works”.

Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts, told a packed lecture hall at the University of North Carolina that humans were not responsible for the warming of the earth.

His comments came on the same day that the Nobel committee honoured Mr Gore for his work in support of the link between humans and global warming.

“We’re brainwashing our children,” said Dr Gray, 78, a long-time professor at Colorado State University. “They’re going to the Gore movie [An Inconvenient Truth] and being fed all this. It’s ridiculous.”

Sure he's won an Emmy, an Oscar and now a Nobel Peace Prize, but he still hasn't won the Presidency.

Yes, it's true AL Gore looks like he's going to be sharing the Nobel Peace Prize with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. For his "efforts" on Global Warming. But really, what are his accomplishments? He's not a scientist, he just took some scientists' theory and made a nice PowerPoint Presetation. Shouldn't he just get a prize for marketing or computer programming or something?

Research Review of Global Warming Evidence
Below is an eight page review of information on the subject of "global warming," and a petition in the form of a reply card. Please consider these materials carefully.

The United States is very close to adopting an international agreement that would ration the use of energy and of technologies that depend upon coal, oil, and natural gas and some other organic compounds.

Movie: The Great Global Warming Swindle

Ages 12 and up (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Westwood Hills Nature Center will continue its conversation with the community about global warming this fall by presenting the film, "The Great Global Warming Swindle." The film shows an alternate viewpoint to the one presented in the showing of " An Inconvenient Truth " earlier this year. The city hopes the films will foster a balanced community dialogue on the topic of global warming. This documentary was produced by Martin Durkin and argues against the scientific opinion that human activity is the main cause of global warming. The movie is 90 minutes long with a discussion to follow the movie.
